For Sierra Chart · Windows x64
The position tool Sierra Chart never had.
Place an entry, a stop and a target on the chart. Contracts, dollar risk and reward-to-risk update as you drag. It anchors to the candle, so it stays where you put it while the market keeps printing.
- One-time purchase
- Instant download
- Never places an order
Try it here first. The chart on the right is a working copy of the tool. Or watch the real thing.

Same maths, same labels, same buttons as the study. Numbers are MES unless you switch to ES.Real screenshot, MES 5-minute chart. Open this page on a desktop to try the live replica.

How it works
The whole product, in five gestures.
Real recordings from Sierra Chart, not renders. The tool you see is the file you download.

What makes it different
Built by a trader who was tired of doing this by hand.
Sierra Chart is the best execution platform there is and it has never had a long/short position tool. This one was made to feel native, then audited line by line.
Anchored to a bar, not to the screen
Sierra Chart drawings drift as bars print. This one is pinned to a bar index. Put it on the candle you entered and it stays there, so the box becomes a record of the trade, not just a plan for it.
Handles, not lines
Thin lines are a poor click target on a busy chart. Each level gets a triangle you can actually grab; the lines themselves are locked so nothing competes for your click.
Never touches an order. Or the internet.
No trading connection, no licence server, no key to paste, nothing sent anywhere. One DLL that calculates and draws. For a tool bought from a stranger on the internet, that is the point.
Works on anything the chart can show
Only two values are read: Tick Size and Currency Value Per Tick, both with overrides. Eight positive-price assumptions were found and fixed, so spreads and back-adjusted contracts that print negative prices work too. Time, tick, volume, range and Renko bars.
R:R net of commission
Enter your round-turn commission per contract. Risk includes it, reward subtracts it, and the ratio is taken from the money, not the raw ticks.
X hides. It does not forget.
Size, direction, distances, box width: all kept. Right-click and it comes back exactly as you left it. H gives a clean view with the handles off.
Sits ahead of the market
Drag it into the empty space right of the last candle for a level you are waiting on. The width handle works out there too.
Pro edition
Three ways to size. Four places to get out.
Same engine as Standard, same drawing, same handles. Pro answers the harder questions: what stop fits a fixed risk, how many contracts a stop allows, and how to split them across targets.
Three sizing modes
Entry label reads
- You set
- Stop, targets, size
- It solves
- Risk and reward in money
The chart decides your levels and you want to know what they cost.
Auto Size: the stop costs more than the whole budget for even one contract.
Fixed Risk: commission alone eats the budget before the stop gets any room.
Up to four targets, weighted
Shares are weights, not percentages. 50 / 30 / 20 and 5 / 3 / 2 give the same split. Contracts are allocated by largest remainder, so the counts in brackets always add back up to the position.
Step a share down to zero and that target leaves the chart. Band, label and handle go with it.

Read before you buy
Seven things it does not do, said up front.
A buyer who reads these first sees a tool that knows itself. A buyer who discovers them later sees a bug. There are no refunds on this download, so here they are.
Buttons need a pointer tool active
Sierra Chart only delivers mouse events to a study when the Pointer, Chart Values or Hand tool is selected. With a drawing tool active the on-chart buttons go quiet. The handles and the right-click menu are unaffected. This is a platform rule, not a setting, and it cannot be worked around.
R:R assumes every target fills
The ratio does not model moving the stop to breakeven after a partial exit. That is the standard convention for this kind of tool, so the number means what a TradingView user expects it to mean.
Fixed Risk rounds the stop down to whole ticks
Realised risk lands at or just below the amount you set: $247.50 against a $250 setting, never $252. Pro only.
Two copies on one chart need different line-number bases
Each copy addresses a range of chart drawing numbers. Running two instances of the same edition on one chart requires changing “Advanced: Drawing Line Number Base” on one of them. Standard and Pro side by side work at their defaults.
Box width past the last candle is approximate
Right of the last bar there are no timestamps, so the box is projected from the average bar span. Exact on time-based charts; it can drift a little on tick, volume, range and Renko charts.
Equal label widths assume a monospaced font
Labels are padded to a common character count. The default face is Consolas. A proportional font gives ragged widths; nothing else changes.
Windows, 64-bit Sierra Chart
Built and tested on Sierra Chart 2800 (x64). The SDK it is compiled against declares support back to version 2155. Live chart time has been on ES and MES; a full source audit removed every instrument assumption, but you should still look at it on your own symbol before trusting it with money.
Documentation
Read the manual before you pay for it.
Everything the study does is written down, including the parts a sales page would leave out.
FAQ
Straight answers, the way a trader asks.
Does it place orders?
No. It calculates and draws. It never places, modifies or cancels an order and it needs no trading connection. You size the trade with it, then enter the order the way you already do.
Which Sierra Chart version do I need?
The 64-bit Windows build. PSC was built and tested on version 2800; the SDK it compiles against supports versions back to 2155. It is one self-contained DLL with no dependencies.
Which instruments does it work on?
Any symbol the chart can show. The study reads only two values from the chart, Tick Size and Currency Value Per Tick, and every figure follows from those. It has been checked against negative prices (spreads, back-adjusted continuous contracts) and works on time, tick, volume, range and Renko bars.
The dollar figures look ten times too big. Why?
Your chart's Currency Value Per Tick belongs to a different contract, usually the full-size when you trade the micro. ES is 12.50, MES is 1.25. Fix it under Chart Settings › Symbol, or set the study's own override input.
What is the difference between Standard and Pro?
Same engine, same drawing. Standard has one target and one sizing mode: you set the size and it tells you the risk and reward. Pro adds Fixed Risk and Auto Size, up to four targets with weighted shares, and the over-budget warnings. The comparison table above lists every difference.
How do I get the file after paying?
Immediately. The page you land on after checkout has the download button, and the same link is emailed to the address you used at checkout. Copy the DLL into your Sierra Chart Data folder with Sierra Chart closed, start it, and add the study from the Studies list.
I lost the download link.
Use the recovery page. Enter the email you paid with and a fresh link is sent to that address.
Can I use it on more than one computer?
Yes, on the machines you personally trade from. The licence is for one trader. Sharing, reselling or redistributing the file is not allowed.
Do I get updates?
Yes. Bug fixes and updates to the edition you bought are free; a fresh download link is sent to the email you paid with.
Is there a trial or a refund?
Neither at the moment. This is a digital download delivered instantly, so all sales are final. That is why the limitations are listed openly above, and why the documentation is public before you buy. If the study will not load on a supported Sierra Chart install, contact support and we will get it working.
Is there any licence key, login or phoning home?
No. The DLL runs offline. Nothing is sent anywhere.
